I hold off now.
I used to find something in a store I liked, and five minutes later, I was walking out the door with it.
It was the same with online.
Come across something nice, ‘Add to cart.’
I do not do it anymore.
Like, not at all.
I kind of had too much stuff.
Too much of, hmm?
I would not go as far as to say ‘nothing.’
But too much of ‘ho hum.’
I would open my dresser or open my closet and stare at a kind of blank screen.
I would always go to nine things.
Nine things I have had forever.
Really nice dress shirt.
Polo.
Shorts.
Sweater.
The nine things that I found online, or in a store, that when I saw the price, I stepped back.
I walked around the store for a while.
Slept on it.
Shut down my computer.
Held off.
But eventually, I did buy it.
It became one of those nine things.
I love it.
Cherish it.
One is a sweater.
I do not know when I bought it.
I have had it for that long.
The label tells me I ‘paid’ for it.
But it looks brand new.
Every time I pull it over my head, I feel good.
No more of the ‘ho hum.’
