#39 SHOWING UP HERE AND THERE

I was going to write another entry for the NICHE SERIES.

But I thought, you know?

That was eight in a row.

Let’s give you a break.

There are more designers I want to introduce you to.

They can wait.

Not only are there more, but they increase exponentially.

They also do collaborations and special ‘drops.’

Plus, creative and respected designers are launching Golf Lines.

Aimé Leon Dore is a perfect example of this.

I think it would be a blast to be a designer and be asked to launch a Fashion House’s Golf Line.

Where to begin?

Who to draw inspiration from?

What has not been done?

What has been done?

And the key question is, can it be worn, and does it perform off the course?

Can it transfer to other sports?

Hello, DERAILED COUTURE.

I have so many other designers I want to introduce you to.

I will come back to them for sure.

Haha, I have other things on my mind that I want to talk about with you.

I hope you enjoyed the read.

There is some nice ‘stuff’ out there.

I find this interesting.

I think it is very current.

And that is how much Fashion is drawing from Sports and aligning with Sports.

Signing massive contracts.

You do not have to look far.

It is everywhere.

It used to be all the major Car Manufacturers that had big partnerships.

Now it is Fashion.

LVMH is the perfect example of this.

LVMH is the Premier Sponsor of the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

But what I think is more interesting is not the partnerships or who they are ‘dressing.’

It is what they are designing and what Sports they are currently drawing inspiration from.

The two Sports that I would argue designers are drawing inspiration from are Golf and Tennis.

I think Golf is a little ahead of Tennis, but Tennis is catching up.

Both sports create so much to draw from, especially their past.

I don’t think Golf or Tennis will ever catch Basketball as the biggest fashion influencer.

I think Golf and Tennis will remain Niche.

Show up here and there.

For me, showing up here and there is what it is all about.

You do not want to be everywhere.

You want to be a bit mysterious.

Not an act.

Comes naturally.

Elusive.

Not in your face.

Not see it right away.

Have to do some thinking.

‘Showing up here and there.’

Insert emoji looking through the blinds here.

‘Wear it OUT’
