#54 THEY HAVE IT DOWN. LIKE DOWN, DOWN

Oh, man, I love it.

Like, love it, love it.

I love seeing someone while I am riding.

Someone walking on the street.

Someone who just has it down.

Like down, down.

Who cares where they are going?

Who cares where they are coming from?

It does not matter.

Girl or guy.

Young or old.

It does not matter.

They just have it down.

Head to toe.

They have it down.

A style completely their own.

They have it down.

They stand out.

Like, stand out, stand out.

Expensive or budget.

They have it down.

They are walking on the street.

I can spot them a kilometre away.

A certain hat.

The fabric of a top.

The colour of the shorts.

The style of socks.

The fit of a jacket.

I have never been wrong.

Never.

They will be walking towards me or away.

I slow down or speed up.

From the back or the front.

It does not matter.

They have it down.

I make a U-turn.

Come back in the opposite direction.

Get the other side of them.

I try to be as inconspicuous as possible.

Slow down or speed up, so I can be beside them at a light.

Fake something is wrong with my bike and watch them as they pass.

Use their visual in an office tower reflection.

But I think they know.

I am okay with that.

Who would not want some innocent and complete stranger appreciate how they ‘have it down.’

What an incredible feeling that must be for them.

Give them a ‘hop’ to their step.

You know?

I should stop and tell them.

Just a simple acknowledgement.

Something that they would like to hear.

‘Wow, you have it down.’

Say it as I ride by.

Don’t stop.

Continue on.

But I am hesitant.

Then again, if I was walking on the street and a stranger rode by and told me that I ‘had it down,’ it would make my day.

I would remember it.

It would be a kind of acknowledgement that what I was doing was good.

I would get that ‘hop’ in my step.

I was on a ride this morning.

A guy was walking towards me.

I shook my head and said ‘fuck’ under my breath.

He ‘had it down.’

I know it did not take him long to put this on or together.

He has a wardrobe.

He has selection.

He has choices.

But he created it himself.

He created his wardrobe so he could have selection, so he could make choices.

This is what has to be admired, congratulated, and acknowledged.

And you know what?

Good for him.

Good for me.

I love, love, love seeing people who take the time.

Admire.

Take inspiration.

Get a new idea.

I was going to put a few links in this post to people who have it down.

But these people are ‘famous.’

They have ‘help.’

I don’t want to show you people who have ‘help.’

It makes it unnatural.

Find people who are doing it on their own.

Appreciate them.

Keep an eye out and appreciate those people you see on the street.

The ones who made the effort.

The ones that care.

The ones that have a unique ‘story’ to tell.

The ones narrating their ‘story’ beautifully.

As much as they are doing it for themselves, they are doing it for us.

‘They have it down. Like down, down.’
