Man, I like style.
I like seeing people with style.
A style they created for themselves.
Unique.
It says who they are.
What they have curated on their own.
‘The story’ they are telling.
I like what I like.
My ‘like what I like’ may be 100% different from your ‘like what you like,’ but that is what makes the world go round.
There is a theme to my style.
But I have fun playing with that theme.
I think spending time on how you want to ‘present’ yourself is good for you.
…The story you are telling.
I have bought stuff in the past, got home, and thought, WTF?
Then, two months later, you cannot take it off me.
I like certain ‘names.’
I like certain stores.
The one store I hope I get a red light in front of.
The one with the ever-changing mannequins in the window.
The mannequin ‘I will take what he is wearing.’
I have favourites.
I have favourite combos.
I have favourite seasons.
The transitional times.
Spring to summer.
Summer to fall.
That surprise cool day in August.
Layers.
Vests.
Cardigans.
There is one thing I never do.
I never look in the mirror.
It really is the way to go.
Try it.
Do not look at your reflection.
Do not check to see ‘how you look.’
You don’t want that one.
You want the one that you have in your head.
The one from within.
The one that is better.
Far better.
Confident.
That is the one you leave home with.
That is the one you ride with.
That is the one you keep.
The ‘story’ you have within is the ‘story’ you want to share.
‘Reflect’ from your inside.
The one you shut the door with and whispered, ‘Look out.’
Ride with it.
…And ride you will.
Even when you ride past that glass building that reflects you in its windows, look straight ahead.
