If you do not know them, discover them.
I promise, they are a game changer.
Once you start listening to them, you will come to realize how great their other ‘stuff’ is.
I will put the song at the end of this post.
I have a strong feeling you will put it on one of your Playlists.
When you listen, keep in mind this song is thirty years old.
Massive Attack is, was, and will always be ahead of their time.
It was a great and creative era.
The same can be said about STUSSY.
They both came out of this era.

STUSSY
One of the most famous streetwear brands of all time.
It was the way he signed his name.
His signature.
‘The John Hancock of Streetwear’
How would you like to have that in your back pocket?
Not bad.
I could have written this post a while ago.
I wanted to wait a little while.
He played a big role in my fashion evolution.
Funny though, I have only had four of his designs.
I had this one shirt of his.
It was my favourite, and my go-to in my mid-thirties.
My mom thought it was the nicest shirt she had ever seen.
She designed and made her own clothes.
Shawn founded STUSSY in the mid-1980s.
It is still going strong.
Very, very strong.
There have been many streetwear labels that have come and gone.
Yet STUSSY remains and still holds its own.
It’s very own.
It is hard to put my finger on why.
When you look at their site, their lookbooks, there is nothing really extraordinary.
Nothing that really jumps out.
But on a whole different level, it is extraordinary.
Everything jumps out.
A perfect example of ‘Je ne sais quoi.’
In my way of thinking, this is gold.
In my way of thinking, this is what every designer strives to achieve.
I have a STUSSY plaid spring jacket.
I have had it for at least twenty years.
It has Terry Cloth Lining.
When I wear it, I am guaranteed a compliment five minutes from leaving home.
Not because it is STUSSY.
The signature is very small and hard to see.
But because it is just a beautiful jacket.
The collar, the zipper front, the zipper front pocket, the fit.
What am I getting at here?
I mentioned that ‘nothing is extraordinary,’ ‘nothing jumps out.’
But, and a big but, when you wear it, it is a whole different story.
I am enamoured by a designer who can do this.
I know it took years.
I know it took a certain individual.
I know it took a vision.
I know it took hard work.
But when you get some ‘Joe’ like me feeling this, mission accomplished.
