Number 5 in THE NICHE SERIES
You know?
I think this may be the most interesting Post in the NICHE SERIES.
Both in the Story behind it and the Style itself.
STUDENTS GOLF
Michael Huynh
Back in the 2000s, he created a company called PUBLISH.
Many people confirm that it was basically him who brought ‘Jogging Pants’ to the forefront.
His company flourished, but it took a toll on him.
He says that all he did during the day was ‘troubleshoot.’
One day in his office, he had a seizure.
Argh.
The poor guy.
He stepped back to recover.
Smart move.
His Physical Therapist suggested he take up Golf.
He says that Golf saved his life and his love of design.
I would say a rebirth.
What a rebirth it was.
I spoke about where these designers are drawing their influence.
For example, in ‘#32 PUBLIC DRIP,’ they get their inspiration from public courts, fields, and places.
STUDENTS GOLF draws from the ‘Everyman’ golfer.
He uses and created a great word.
‘Municians’
People who Golf at Public Courses and not Private Clubs.
The reason I like this guy so much is, if it is okay just to put me into his realm for this one idea, he says this in Forbes.
‘But rather than a middle finger to the people who kicked him out of the club, he’d rather create something to counter that discrimination.’
It is the same thing I am trying to achieve with DERAILED COUTURE.
I, like Michael, simply want to show that there are alternatives.
Alternatives to wearing ‘The Kit.’
STUDENTS GOLF has beautiful alternatives.
If you are into T-Shirts, STUDENTS GOLF is going to be your ‘go-to.’
Endless colours with great visuals and phrases.
They have great Vests, Cardigans and Jackets.
Stay away from this one, I have first ‘dibs.’

Nice, eh?
I love their Polos too.
Great colours, and great styles.
You know?
I am going to leave it here.
You will see why I like this label so much once you get to the site.
I promise you will spend a lot of time on it.
There is a lot to look at.
A lot to take in.
Nice job, Michael.
