#52 JE NE SAIS QUOI™

I like this one.

It costs nothing.

But it says so much.

Create your own trademark.

TM™

Add something to your style.

Tweek it.

Tweek it and stay with it.

Do it every day.

It does not have to be big.

The smaller, the better.

Understated.

Not forced.

Not stupid.

Not corny.

Natural.

Something that says you.

Something that people cannot put their finger on.

It is just something you do.

The way you wear something.

The way you change something.

The way you make something, you.

The way you make something your ‘Calling Card.’

Turn the Polos you wear into your Polo.

Leave one side of the collar up.

Turn the Button-Down Shirts you wear into your Button-Down Shirts.

Button them to the top.

Turn the Belt you wear into your Belt.

Do not tuck in the overlap, let it be free.

Turn the Ball Cap you wear into your Ball Cap.

Wear the same company but a different colour.

Turn your Sunglasses into your Sunglasses.

Wear the style you love but in all different frame colours.

Turn your Socks into your Socks.

Always wear the same mid-calf length ones.

Do not let your clothes wear you.

You wear the clothes.

Put a little ‘you’ into them.

I have mentioned in multiple posts that you are not doing this to be noticed.

It is not your goal.

It is not what you set out to accomplish.

All you are doing is adding something, and if that gets noticed, well, it gets noticed.

Funny.

I know it gets noticed.

I like and do the collar one.

At first, people would lean in and straighten it.

Now they leave it alone.

They now know that it is a ‘TJ™’

I notice it in other people who do it.

I have a friend who is a great Cyclist.

He does not wear Cycling Glasses.

He wears the nicest pair of Gold Aviators I have ever seen.

They look great on him and add just the right amount of,

‘Je ne sais quoi’

Insert nail-polished finger emoji here.

‘Wear it OUT’
