#66 JOHNNY COME LATELY

I am not sure how it started.

I am not sure when it started.

…I am a top button guy.

Maybe it started with school and wearing a tie.

Done up.

Right to the neck.

Tie or no tie.

Collared shirt or Polo.

Top button inserted.

Clasped.

Secured.

Set.

But I discovered this other shirt.

A shirt you cannot do this to.

It does not even have buttons.

It is not designed to be done up to the top.

It is designed to be left open.

Not like open, open.

Open just enough.

I found a great shirt in a store recently.

When I held it up, I noticed it had a placket I don’t wear.

I put it back.

But the shirt was too nice.

The fabric was Terry Cloth.

I mean, come on.

I came back to it five minutes later.

One hour later, it was in my house.

Two hours later, I was having dinner on a terrace wearing it.

Friends noticed.

Friends complimented.

It is called a ‘Johnny Collar.’

I looked into it and why it was called this.

It is named after Johnny Mathis.

A very popular singer from the 1960s.

He wore this style of collar.

Funny.

I seem to have a thing for styles derived from 1960s fashion.

I love that era.

People knew how to dress, and equally important people dressed.

I have a post #40 ‘Once you put on Crocs, you have thrown in the towel.’

I really get into it.

Okay, I will leave it at that.

Here are some nice examples.

I think Ralph has it down.

Get one.

They are comfortable and exude relaxation.

Great to ride with too.

The wind goes down your neck.

When you look good, you feel good, and you ride better than good.
