#76 KNOW WHO YOU PUT ON

It is frustrating when you see a designer you like, a designer you wear, show up in the wrong place.

Frustrating and disappointing.

Do you know the Department Stores that are full of clothes?

They also sell home furnishings in the back.

I go into them now and then.

A rainy day.

I call them ‘Underwear and Sock Stores.’

Their real name is ‘Off Price Department Stores.’

Where I live, the chain is called ‘Winners,’ or ‘Marshalls.’

There are a couple of designers I like.

Their ‘stuff’ started to appear in these stores.

Not one or two items.

Lots.

I was dismayed.

Their exclusivity was now gone.

Anyone can wear them now.

Anyone can wear them now.

Not know what they are wearing.

Not know who they are wearing.

Have no clue.

They saw a nice shirt.

The price was right.

They bought it.

I cannot fault them.

In fact, ‘way to go.’

It has nothing to do with them.

It has everything to do with the designer.

Why did they let this happen?

How did they let this happen?

There is no going back now.

The bridge was crossed.

It is similar to a post I have on Derailleur.

‘DISQUALIFIED’

The person you were racing, cheated.

They do not exist anymore.

My relationship with the designer has ended.

I like clothes that are hard to find and require some ‘work.’

Not clothes that appear before you.

Not a piece that anybody can walk into ‘Winners’ and walk out with three and not have a clue as to who they just purchased.

I don’t want this to come across as a ‘highbrow’ thing.

I think it is important to know what you put on.

I think it is important to know who you put on.

After all, by wearing something, you are telling your story.

Be sure it is the story you know how to tell.

Be sure it is the story you want to tell.

The story that you are living.

The story is you.

‘Know who you put on.’

‘Wear it OUT’
