#90 IT BODES WELL

I am a fan of Jeff Goldblum.

I try and see every film he is in.

The films never disappoint.

He never disappoints.

If you want a good one, ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel.’

He seems to play key roles that are not key roles.

He comes into any film, does his ‘thing,’ and leaves.

What a nice way to be an actor, eh?

Pick interesting projects.

Get cast for interesting projects.

He stands out in the whole Hollywood thing.

Unique.

Does his own thing.

Beats to his own drum.

I bet he is a nice guy to hang out with.

Have some fun.

He has great style.

I saw a photo of him the other day.

I liked what he was wearing.

I had never seen anything like it before.

Every time I looked at it, I found something I had missed.

It was easy to find out who made it.

Emily Adams Bode.

BODE

If I had a last name like that, I would call it BODE too.

She was the first woman to show at Menswear, NYFW.

She makes clothes from old textiles as well as newly made traditional ones.

Heirlooms are how she thinks of clothes.

Drawing inspiration from quilts and old tablecloths.

She moved herself out of her apartment so that her old fantastic apartment could become BODE’s tailoring studio.

She opened her flagship store around the corner.

It is hard to stand out as a designer.

How to put your signature on things.

How people can tell it is one of your designs by simply looking at it.

Some designers ‘try too hard,’ and it shows.

I think they don’t stick to what their personal vision is.

Don’t know when to stop.

What their original intention was.

You know how sometimes you will see a car and the owner has ‘personalized’ it?

They did not know where to draw the line.

When to stop.

Went too far.

BODE has a way of getting away with that.

BODE designs clothing that is in a style all its own.

Nobody comes close.

I have talked about many designers in my posts.

I have always wanted to do my best in writing about them.

Describing their designs in words.

It is hard to do that with BODE.

It is all in the visual.

You will see what I mean when you get on her site.

Here you go.

https://bode.com/

It is a beautiful site too.

‘It BODEs Well.’
