I did not find Jacquemus. 

Jacquemus found me. 

Through experience, I have found that this is always the best way. 

I love when things ‘find you.’ 

It was simple. 

A post on Instagram. 

It was Simon Porte Jacquemus standing in front of his about to open new store in New York. 

His store in the background looked beautiful. 

But it was not what got my attention. 

It was what he was wearing. 

He was wearing an outfit. 

An outfit that he had put together from his designs. 

Lots of layering. 

But you could see every layer, and every layer was everything. 

I think I had heard of the label before, but not really. 

I took a deep dive. 

Jacquemus, his mom’s maiden name. 

In dedication to her. 

His first collections were made from garment remnants. 

He did not use buttons or pockets as he did not have the budget. 

He was ‘discovered’ by Comme des Garçons after he had released a few collections. 

They offered him support. 

He grew from there. 

He presents a new theme every season. 

There is so much more to him than this. 

There is another aspect to him. 

He has mastered social media. 

Of all the designers I follow on Instagram, nobody, NOBODY tops him. 

He is the KING. 

He has it down in a way that nobody else does.
