I start lots of posts with something I heard.
Something I read.
Something someone casually says.
Kind of ‘Off the cuff.’
But it resonates.
I go back and watch it again.
I go back and listen again.
I highlight it.
I like to hear the buildup.
What was going on in the conversation that made this statement come out?
This is what I heard.
‘If you love it, buy it. If you buy it, live in it.’
Read that again.
It is good.
Law Roach, a stylist to the ‘Biggies.’
He said it.
I want to add one last little bit to it.
‘If you love it, buy it. If you buy it, live in it. If you live in it, care for it.’
It is something I deal with.
The whole ‘I have worn that before’ thing.
I would not say I have a problem with it.
But I will catch myself saying, ‘You wore that yesterday.’
But why is this an issue?
Why is this something to even consider?
It should be the total opposite.
Look at what I am wearing, and you know what?
I love it.
I love it so much that I am going to live in it.
YOU love it, wear it.
Wear the shit out of it.
Why shouldn’t you?
You love it.
The way it makes you feel.
The way it fits.
I have always felt that true style is the way you move.
Before you say a word, your movement has already introduced you.
Style in its purest form.
How you wear it.
How you wear it like nobody else does.
How you lift your leg over the frame.
Lean into a curve.
Wear and wear the shit out of it.
But wear it with your style.
It is just one component.
Let them get used to it.
Then one day, BOOM.
Throw another ‘find’ on just when they thought they knew you.
Wear the shit out of it.
Don’t give a shit about anything else.
Love it.
Buy it.
Live in it.
My New Mantra.
‘If You Love it, Buy it. If You Buy it, Live in it.’
Insert etched in stone emoji here.
‘Dress Confidently. Ride Boldly. Ride YOU.’
