Here is a little less than a thousand more.
Short and sweet, not a big fan of photos of myself.
I mean, I will look at them and all, but I will quickly move on to the next.
But the odd time, I see one, and I think ‘Okay.’
Maybe because I am in the background.
Maybe because a lot is going on in the photo.
Maybe because the surroundings take the focus away from me.
Or maybe, once in a while, it is okay to say, ‘You know? I like this photo.’
‘You know? I like this photo.’
It is the story behind it that I like even more.
This is me.
I am heading home from a ride.
I am looking ahead at a guy lying on the road.
His bike is off to the side and on its side.
I hope he is okay.
I am not a big fan of arriving at accidents.
I am preparing myself.
But as I got closer, I realized he was propped on his stomach and had a serious camera.
He looked like a soldier, or better still, a sniper.
I said something along the lines of, ‘Wow, you do not fool around.’
He laughed, and I continued home.
A week or two later, I was out for a ride.
I was not even close to here.
I am riding along, and I can hear someone yelling, ‘Bonjour, Bonjour s’il vous plait arretez!’
I kept riding, and then I realized it was directed at me.
I stop, and he pulls up beside me.
He tells me he has been looking for me.
‘I am the guy with the camera on the road,’ he says.
He told me he was trying to take some interesting photos that day, and I happened to ride by.
He said he liked how they turned out.
He had been looking for me, so he could share them.
I am thinking, ‘Wow, this guy is a professional photographer, and he likes them.’
I gave him my contact info, and he said he would send them.
I thanked him, and over thanked him, and continued my ride.
This is one of the photos I returned home to.
It is okay to like a photo if you are in it, eh?
‘A picture is worth a thousand words.’
Insert flashbulb emoji here.
‘There is another way to ride.’
Pssst, I kind of like the ‘Chicken’ one too.
