Every so often I get ‘stuck.’
It can be with anything.
It is not a case of having no motivation.
It is more that I do not know what my next move will be.
I have painted myself into a corner.
I do not know how to get out.
I have been stuck many times in my life.
I know exactly when it will happen.
I can feel it coming.
I only have a few more brush strokes of paint until I have fully painted myself into the corner.
I am on my knees for these last few brush strokes.
Then I am standing, pressed into the corner.
How do I get out?
What is my next move?
It may take a few hours.
It may take a few days.
But I will get out.
I will get out because this is when I am at my best.
I like the struggle.
It is in the back of my mind 24/7.
It forces me to dig deeper.
It pushes me to come up with a solution I might never have thought of.
You see?
Some of my best ideas come from moments of feeling stuck.
The struggle is my source of inspiration.
When I am forced to think differently to move forward, the journey itself is always as enriching as the finished project.
It always provides a unique outcome.
One that I am proud of.
Do not be afraid when you are stuck.
Embrace it.
This is when your creativity shines.
You will find your way out.
Enjoy the ride.
Cycling has its flow state.
That glorious time on a ride when you settle in.
The moment when your body moves effortlessly with the rhythm of the ride.
It is the same with creativity.
After working through the struggle, there comes a moment when everything clicks and flows smoothly again.
