A WELL-ROUNDED LEG

I am back.

I am riding again.

I started a few weeks ago.

Right back into it.

I even did something ‘daring’ on the first day, 100 Metres in.

Funny, eh?

It never leaves.

It is great to be back on the bike again.

I live in Montreal.

Winters are long.

They do a good job keeping the bike lanes cleared of snow.

I am not into it, though.

I won’t get into why.

I think ‘I am not into it’ captures it.

I know when the last ride of the season will be.

The next day calls for 30CM of snow.

I put my bike away.

I do not ride again until the Spring.

No Stationary, ZWIFT, PELOTON.

Nothing.

ZERO

A couple of times during the winter, I actually dust my bikes.

I like to do other things.

Ski, Skate, Swim, Hike, Walk.

Use the leg muscles that do not get used while riding.

Get a well-rounded leg.

Haha.

It works.

I also have a problem.

A problem with ‘killing things.’

Do it so much, that it begins to lose its appeal.

Not riding for a few months makes it feel like a brand-new sport every spring.

I love that first ride you get in the Spring.

The people you forgot about, you see.

The trails you have not thought about for months, you ride.

And the pothole that you always hit, you hit.

Here is to a wonderful Spring, Summer and Fall of riding.

‘A WELL-ROUNDED LEG’

Insert beer mugs cheering emoji here.

‘There is another way to ride.’
