DRAFTING TABLE

Architecture is easy to critique, it is everywhere.

Good, bad, beautiful, WOW, WTF, ingenious.

Buildings in the city, homes in the country.

You pay attention to it when you ride without really noticing you do.

You have your favourites.

You have the ones you point out if you are with friends.

I like to use them as landmarks.

I have a problem with remembering street names.

‘Make a right at the ‘Home Alone’ house.’

‘Go left at the building with the cool balconies.’

‘Turn right at that house with the ten dormers.’

‘Go left at the office building on stilts.’

I could send you on a long ride with this kind of direction, and you would never get lost.

I was thinking as I typed that last sentence.

It would make for an interesting race.

A race with only architectural references as the route.

I think I may be on to something.

There is one place I know I can use.

It would be your marker to know you are completely on track.

‘Make a right at the building that looks…’

See for yourself.
