I have a good friend.
She is full of wisdom, great quotes, lots of laughs, and oblivious to how entertaining she is.
I am honoured we have a similar trait.
She has embraced hers.
I have hidden mine.
She has accepted her ‘Freakness.’
She revels in it.
I have always pulled the curtains on mine.
Literally.
Weird things.
Things that have to be done.
Things that have to be done a certain way.
Things that have to be done first, before other things can be started.
Things that have to be clean.
Things that have to be put away a certain way.
‘Freak’ things.
She will perform them anywhere and everywhere.
By herself or in front of others.
‘I am a freak,’ she would say while she is doing it.
I always hoped a little of this would rub off on me.
It has.
I thank her for it.
I pull back the curtains when I ride.
I leave them wide open.
‘Embracing the freak.’
Insert broom emoji here.
‘There is another way to ride.’
