F1

I am not sure why it took me so long to write this one.

It should have been in the first two or three.

It plays a huge role in my rides.

I end up here after every ride.

It is the best thing any city in the world can offer cyclists.

I truly do not know how you can beat it.

An F1 Track.

Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.

It is EVERYTHING.

EVERYTHING.

Closed to traffic.

Cleaned twice a day.

4.4 Kilometres.

4.4 kilometres, non-interrupted.

Curves.

Straightaways.

Twists.

There are some great cyclists that ride it.

I look at the black tire marks from the cars.

I wonder what F1 driver left them.

I imagine the thousands and thousands of people who fill the stands.

The action that took place.

The history that was left.

The legends that were created.

It is fun there.

The best thing any city in the world can offer cyclists is going to get better.

It was closed for most of the past summer.

They closed it right after the Race.

They are repaving it.

Yes, repaving it.

F1 Standards Paved.

Yes, that kind of pavement.

‘F1’

Insert checkered flag emoji here.

‘There is another way to ride.’
