I like how certain things stand out in your memory.
Things that you will never forget.
The smallest ones are usually the best.
Pack the most punch.
You have the complete visual.
Where it was.
What was around it.
The time of day.
A little, but a big one comes to mind for me.
It was a framed ‘thing’ my mom had on her dresser.
The frame was dark wood, and it had a stand.
The ‘thing’ was stitched onto a piece of beautiful white fabric.
There were a couple of flowers, two birds, and some pink, blue and yellow piping.
The ‘thing’ said, ‘Lord, Grant Me Patience, BUT I WANT IT RIGHT NOW.’
OMG, it would truly be countless how many times I saw that little frame.
I would pick it up now and then too.
It captures my feelings right now.
Like I am champing at the bit to ride.
But it is not here yet, but it is so close.
Every day for the past week, it has snowed, rained or freezing rain.
But I can still feel it.
See it.
Smell it.
Like, it could be tomorrow.
I am okay with it though.
I know I have countless beautiful rides to come.
Waiting an extra day or two is fine.
I still get out on my beautiful walks.
‘Suss it out.’
I went up the mountain today.
I knew it would be my last time walking to the top.
…The next time will be on two wheels.
Hey, that little framed ‘thing?’
It now sits lovingly,
