I have this theory.
I am not sure if it would apply to everyone.
But I am sure it will be understood by quite a few.
It has always worked for me.
Never let me down.
It came to mind in a recent post, ‘THE WHITE T-SHIRT WINS EVERY SINGLE TIME.’
https://derailleur.ca/the-white-t-shirt-wins-every-single-time/
I have this very strong affinity and understanding of how clothes make me feel.
How they can instantly change my frame of mind.
Simply pulling a shirt over my head.
How I know to dress up to stay in.
How a night alone at home all by myself is such a better night if I am dressed up.
Nothing crazy.
I am not talking suit and tie.
Just a really nice shirt, sweater, shorts, and a killer pair of socks.
I just feel better.
I flow.
I do not ride wearing ‘The Kit.’
I get ‘shit’ all the time.
Mainly along the lines of the types of fabric I ride in, performance slash aerodynamics.
But you see, this is when my theory comes in.
If dressing up at home can make for a better night, then dressing up for a ride can make for a better ride.
Confidence.
Confidence is a wonderful thing to keep in your back pocket.
Nobody has to know.
Just you.
I love what I am wearing so much, I will take on any challenge.
I feel great.
I feel empowered to be my best self.
It obliterates ‘the shit.’
How do I prove my theory?
Well?
To be honest, the ‘shit’ that is thrown my way I hear as I pass them.
