I am not a Lawyer. 

But I love courtroom ‘stuff.’ 

Especially the movies. 

The twists, the facts, the drama, the arguments, those involved. 

What follows is far from this rather official opening. 

Far from it. 

It is just my, insert thinking emoji here. 

A little scenario here. 

A Courtroom Scenario. 

You get your hands on my closing arguments. 

Handwritten. 

Legible. 

You look over your shoulder. 

Nobody is looking. 

You begin to read. 

It is in Point form.

The first thing you notice is that there have been a few working titles created, and then scratched out. 

The one he went with is ‘The Essence of Flow.’ 

 

 

The beauty of the single-speed bike. 

An ode to simplicity, focus, and harmony.  

Pure and simple. 

Elegantly straightforward.

The Essence of Flow.

Nothing to think about. 

No fiddling with gears or mechanical distractions, just you and the ride. 

The ride adjusts you. 

You do not adjust the ride. 

A partnership. 

An extension of yourself. 

Adapt. 

Every ride a workout. 

A test of character. 

Mindfulness in motion. 

A meditative experience. 

No decision making. 

No gear changes. 

Your mind, free to focus on rhythm. 

Focus on the hum of the tires. 

Focus on the scenery around you. 

Focus on simple things. 

What to have for dinner? 

The anticipation of a serious downtown ride. 

Weaving through traffic. 

Precise. 

Minimalist. 

Less is more. 

Pacing. 

A philosophy that extends beyond cycling. 

Finding joy in simplicity. 

Strength in self-reliance. 

Telling you story. 

The story you want to tell.
