#123 TRY A LITTLE HARDER, TO BE A LITTLE BETTER

I did not come up with that one.

Gordon B. Hinckley did.

It is a good one.

You can apply it to everything and anything.

I like it because it really does not ask for much.

‘Try’ is the first clue.

‘Little’ is the second clue.

But when you combine the two words, it is bigger.

It is asking you to do something.

It is asking you to try something.

Easy to remember too.

When you are in a situation, if you let this flash through your head, the outcome will always be better.

Personal style is not just about clothes.

It is about presence.

It is about making the effort.

‘Try a little harder, to be a little better,’ fits perfectly when it comes to how we present ourselves to the world.

I see people wearing their pajamas as they walk their dog.

It is easy.

But what if instead, they tried just a little?

A pair of pants and a sweater.

Now you are showing up.

You ‘tried a little harder.’

Track pants at a nice restaurant.

Sure, no one might say anything, but personal style is about respect for the space, for the company, and for yourself.

Dressing thoughtfully is not about extravagance.

It is about making a choice to step into moments with care.

The beauty of this little phrase is that it does not ask for perfection.

It does not demand a drastic change.

It asks for just a little.

A little effort.

A little thoughtfulness.

A little refinement.

And in that small shift, the impact grows.

When you consistently put in just a bit more effort, the way you feel shifts.

Confidence strengthens.

Energy shifts.

And the world responds in kind.
